Improved performance

Heat sealing prevents sample loss and maximizes sample security by facilitating a 100% complete seal and preventing evaporation, leakage and contamination. Heat sealing is suitable for high temperature applications such as (q)PCR, low temperature storage, transportation and many other applications. The sealing performance of heat seals is superior to all other methods including cap, mat and adhesive sealing.

Lower costs

The optimized sealing performance of a heat seal allows the use of smaller reagent volumes leading to reagent cost savings, such that heat sealing is the most cost efficient sealing method for a wide range of applications. For example: per well comparisons show a 3 to 5 fold reduction in costs for qPCR applications (list price comparison of Clear Weld Seal against caps and qPCR seal) and at least a 50% reduction for storage solutions (list price comparison of Peel Seal against caps and PCR seal). Costs can be further reduced when using rolls rather than sheets of material.

Higher speed

The application of a heat seal is much faster than when using caps or adhesive seals. Typical sealing times are 2 - 3 seconds, with both our a4S and 4s3™ sealers.

Reliable reproducibility

A reproducible seal quality can be consistently achieved by standardizing the sealing parameters, time, temperature and pressure when sealing with our a4S and 4s3™ heat sealers. Variability of sealing consistency seen when using manual heat sealers, adhesive seals, caps or mats, is completely removed.

Wide compatibility with heat sealing consumables

We offer a wide choice of heat seal materials, in various roll and sheet formats. Different seals can be chosen dependent on the specific seal properties desired. Options to consider include: heat sealing instrument to be used, plate material to be sealed, desired gas and moisture permeability values, solvent resistance properties, ability to peel, pierce and/or reseal and the optical clarity of the material. High quality

Our seals and instruments are produced according to our ISO standard manufacturing. Our instruments are offered with a 1 year warranty as standard and extended warranty options and service contracts can be additionally purchased. All seals are certified free from nucleases and human genomic DNA contamination. We also offer sterilization of all of our seal materials should this be required. If your seal of choice is not offered sterile as a stock product then please contact us as we can offer custom sterilization of any seals as required.
